hey know this one ? u start to get well and some of your friends don't like it and want to pull you back down ? or you get services and help withdrawn it seems to early ? and wonder if you're going to make it through all that ? thought this might be a good base for a thread about it ! meh the choppy waves of recovery !

Hey, i know that one!! Although i think my biggest problem is a complete fear of getting better and learning how to survive in the world without being ill.
Just thought i'd add that but run out of things to say now!! Em. |

Yer, scared of the unknown me too...I fear being better more than being ill itself its a weird conception but I know where both of you are coming from...Its hard to have mentally ill friends when your in the process of getting better..and there not at that stage..you should distance yourself from them (although painful its in your best interest)

I know what you mean, I'm getting better and my family can't deal with it and are always trying to bring me down again calling me mental, freak, looney tune. saying i should be locked up. but knowing i am getting better and that i will eventually be even better, i am learning not to take in what they are saying.

I know where you're all coming from, things are getting better then someone just has to say something so it all comes crashing down again.
I also get the feeling of 'how will I cope once I'm better?'. I guess I can overcome that obstacle when I get there.  Out to Save The World! |

hi Em, thanks for that yeah that kind of fear I relate to it.
Insecurix, thanks, yes that has to be done sometime unfortunatly , sometimes temporarily or at least you hope so , sometimes forever. Lizcon, sorry your family giving you such a rough time. Hope you're back on fighting form soon, thanks Foblin, 'how will I cope once I'm better' Overcoming that obstacle when you get there. Good point, will try to think on that one, a 'whatif' situation that isn't always helpful to worry like that even if we do! thanks everyone for unique different and helpful responses such a great board Sahara09bond
