It is toooo quiet for my liking on this forum
My Christmas was ok actually. Family meal, very nice.
Noisy nephews, bearable. Not fantastic but to say Ruth died this yr it was better than anticipated. I put up a tree which is one better than I managed last yr
, didn't do shopping as hubby did it but did do cards and it was quiet enough generally which helped as I had very sore throat and flu like symptoms for a week or so.Traumatised just before by the psych confidential report for the inquest which paints my whole remaining family in a very bad and unfair light. In the end I know what is truth so I have talked myself back up from that one. Sleep shot since then and really dreading the inquest. Feeling quiet on edge and twitchy.Poor concentration too.
New yr, well I always hate parties, am just not good at them but I got through one and had a nice chat with someone I don't know that well re his job(he is a nurse working in psychogeriatric care and was really inspirational. Would like to be cared for him in my dotage). Talking of which my parents visited and my dad is pitiful, very confused and looking like he belongs in a nursing home which I found very hard to cope emotionally with. He seems very vulnerable and has lost all his usual dignity. Not a nice thing. Sister is having a bad patch and sounds psychotic to be honest too but didn't see her.
Didn't get my course work for uni done which is a HUGE stress as deadline looms in 1 week and am working all time and all weekend taking son back to uni. Back to work today which was ok but am tired.

Just found out sister picked up by police wandering.behaving ver u oddly(she has bipolar) and ill and admitted to local psych unit. Mum tearful what with her, my dementing dad and her sister with a brain tumour. What is it about my family?

Well done for getting through Christmas. And for re stopping the cigarettes!!
Good news re DLA as it is such an emotional pressure the whole process I know from when Ruth claimed.
I am just pleased a few of you chaps are about on the board again as I am really sure it is a needed place and a safe place for people to get some valuable support and personal insights at tough points in their lives.

Its great to have some conversation here once more!!
My sister has settled somewhat. They are keeping her in to assess and review her which her man friend isn't happy about as he wants her out to look after him(I joke not). She is quite a vulnerable lady really, she has learning diffficulties and tends to get herself into some complex situations. He is twice her age and a schedule one offender. The psychiatry dept and police both want her to not see him at all which suggests he must be quite dodgy but she has known him a while and I doubt others views will affect things
I am more bothered re the impact on my parents, my mum esp to be honest as they and we live a couple of hrs away from her and with our lives as they are, neither of us has emotional or physical time to be there for her much and that is very hard, esp for my mum who has always been over protective of her and tolerated terrible behaviour from her she wouldn't accept from her other kids. I feel to emotionally overloaded to take any more on but am feeling guilt even tho I know what I am doing ie not a lot other than supporting mum by phone is right. My dad is really going down and I am very anxious and sad about him but again I am limited in what I can do as they are 4 hrs away.
Anyway on a brighter note I had a good day at work.

Good to hear you had a positive day. Hope the chilled evening went as planned and good luck with getting back to revision. Its getting started I always find the hard bit.
I actually had an unexpected contact from a friend from uni last yr who has moved back locally and we had a lovely impromptu evening with a pizza and salad and chat.
She and I are both going through hard times and we both shared a bit without getting too distraught but on a deep and trusting and accepting level and it felt good. I found last night a bit unsettled as I did stir some stuff up I usually keep well packaged re Ruth and I suspect she may have had a similar time after I left but it is good to have folk like that in our lives isn't it? They are like treasure. Few and far between and valuable.
